Police are seeking public help in apprehending park vandals

EDMONDS, Wash., Jan. 25, 2023— Edmonds police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in several vandalism to city parks.

Over $10,000 in damage has occurred to numerous parks and restroom facilities throughout Edmonds, often resulting in unusable facilities and closure to the public. A toilet facility and a structure were victims of arson. The suspects have also left behind graffiti, including hate speech, symbols and slurs.

Event locations include restrooms and other park facilities at Brackett’s Landing North Park, Olympic Beach (Fishing Pier), City Park, Hickman Park, and Seaview Park.

In the Seaview Park incident on Jan. 21St, three suspects were seen leaving the area in an older, maroon BMW 6 Series convertible between approx. 16.45-16.45. One suspect was described as a light-skinned, black man who was with two other men. All suspects are believed to be between 16-17 years old.

Police and city staff need the community’s help in identifying the suspects in these cases.

If you witness vandalism or see anything suspicious, please call 911 immediately. Police are also asking residents who live near Seaview Park to review their home video for footage of the suspects or their vehicle.
