Former world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova has announced she has decided to end her collaboration with coach Sascha Bajin. Pliskova, 30, hired Bajin just before the start of the 2021 season and they have now split after working for a year and a half.
“Even good things something comes to an end. I would like to thank Sascha Bajin for everything he did for me and my team. It was an incredible time and I learned a lot! Mainly how to be more positive and believe in myself 🙂 One of the best coaches out there, good luck my friend, “Pliskova announced on Twitter.

Pliskova did make some notable results under the guidance of Bajin
Even though Pliskova has had some notable results in the last year and a half, she has not won any titles nor she has been ranked at the top spot.
Last year, Pliskova reached three finals at three big events – Wimbledon and WTA1000 events in Rome and Montreal. Also, Pliskova qualified for the WTA Finals event in Guadajalara. Even though Pliskova did not win a title last year, it was not a complete disaster for her since she reached finals at three big events.
After a still very good 2021 season, Pliskova has not had much luck in 2022. Pliskova broke her arm in the offseason and that forced her to miss the start of the season and the Australian Open. Piskova, who kicked off her 2022 season in Indian Wells in March, has been struggling with her game as she is just 9-11 in 2022.
Pliskova enjoyed a very strong Wimbledon run last year but this year it was not a really memorable campaign for her at The All England Club. At Wimbledon, Pliskova defeated Tereza Martincova in the first round before suffering a surprise defeat to Katie Boulter in her following match. Pliskova likely feels she needs a change and it remains to be seen who will be her new coach.
