Division I Men’s Collegiate Tennis Rankings sponsored by Tennis-Point

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (“ITA”) today released the NCAA Division I Men’s Top 25 Coaches Poll sponsored by Tennis-Point for January 25, 2023.

For the third consecutive release of the rankings, Virginia will enter the top spot in the rankings after earning all 12 first-place votes to remain in the No. 1 spot. The Cavaliers had their first Top 15 game last week and handled it with grace, beating Baylor (formerly No. 11) 4-0 to remain undefeated on the season.

Wake Forest jumps into the top 10 in the rankings on Jan. 25 after starting the season 6-0, including a 4-3 win over Tennessee (previously No. 6) this past week. The Demon Deacons are ready to be tested again this weekend as they kick off the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend against No. 23 Auburn before a potential matchup with either No. 19 Duke or Middle Tennessee.

Two teams make their Top 25 debuts this week, as No. 23 Cal and No. 25 UCLA each have wins over Top 25 opponents since the Jan. 18 rankings. For Cal, they were able to take down Stanford (formerly No. 13) 4-3 in an early Pac-12 matchup, while UCLA beat Pepperdine (formerly No. 19) 4-3 to remain undefeated heading into the Kickoff Weekend.

The ITA Top 25 Coaches Poll is voted on by the ITA National Ranking Committee. The National Ranking Committee consists of the 12 ITA Regional Chairs, with each Chair casting an individual, secret ballot.
