Will Jadyn Davis be the next 5-star get for Michigan Football?

Who is the top target for Michigan football in the 2024 recruiting class? Ultimately, it seems pretty obvious…five-star QB Jadyn Davis.

I could write a five-paragraph essay about the need for a five-star player in college sports, especially football. The talent and dedication of a five-star athlete mean so much more, and makes them an absolute necessity to recruit them if you can.

There is only a very limited number of players who receive five-star status, around only 30-35 per year. Michigan football has recently had a hard time recruiting five-star recruits, only being able to grab seven five-stars in the Harbaugh era, such as notable NFL players like Donovan Peoples-Jones and Rahsan Gary, most recently recruiting Will Johnson in the 2022 class.

Could Jadyn Davis be the next five-star for Michigan football?

Jaydn Davis is a five-star quarterback recruit in the class of 2024, and definitely the top get for the Wolverines in that cycle. There are rumors of Davis possibly reclassifying to 2023. He is 6-feet, 190 pounds, and likely to continue growing.

Rivals has multiple Futurecast in picks projecting Davis to Michigan. The QB tandem has 25+ offers, including top programs, like Alabama, LSU, and Clemson. However, multiple experts have projected the QB to the Wolverines after a recent visit. EJ Holland of The Wolverine is the most recent but there are no crystal balls from 247 sports yet.

In Davis’ sophomore season at Catawba Ridge High School in Fort Mill South Carolina, he threw for almost 1,800 yards and 14 touchdowns. Davis was also able to contribute on the ground, racking up almost 100 yards and 5 touchdowns. Davis has recently transferred to Providence Day High School in Charlotte, where the staff has ties to Michigan football through Jonathan Goodwin, a former Wolverine.

Davis would be an absolutely huge get for the Wolverines in the 2024 cycle, which could thrust Davis into a starting role potentially for Michigan as soon as the 2024 season.

That’s why the Wolverines have to do whatever it takes to get him.
