Did Love unofficially declare for the 2023 NBA Draft ?!

As the 2022 NBA Draft moves along, did current UNC basketball standout Caleb Love give us some insight on his future plans ?!

In the modern world of social media, it’s not always good to read too deep into things.

However, UNC basketball standout Caleb Love’s tweet during the 2022 NBA Draft has to make you think that the rising junior has aspirations to hear his name called during next year’s festivities.

It’s a very simple tweet, one that simply says “2023” with a hand emoji holding up one finger.

Is Caleb Love unofficially declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft ?!

Based on this tweet, you can take from it that not only does Love have plans of being in next year’s draft class, but expects himself to be a first-round pick in the process.

The St. Louis, Missouri native made tremendous strides during his sophomore season and put together a string of strong performances down the stretch that helped North Carolina make a run to the NCAA National Championship game.

From his freshman to sophomore years, Love improved in nearly every offensive category. As his scoring output increased by over five points per game, Love also shot the ball more effectively, as he has shown more consistency over his time in Chapel Hill.

It was most certainly a tough decision for Love as to whether or not to stay in Chapel Hill for another season. He made the choice that he felt was best for him, as he’ll go ahead and explore the professional route after next season.

Before he gets to that point, there’s still a lot of work to be done at North Carolina. Fortunately for all of us, we’ll be able to watch him play in the Carolina blue for at least one more season.
