Bulldog Insider Podcast: Back from traveling the globe and winning gold, Bell eyes NCAA title at UMD – Duluth News Tribune

Minnesota Duluth fifth-year senior defenseman and captain Ashton Bell spent the last year traveling the globe with Team Canada, winning gold medals at the 2021 and 2022 IIHF World Championship, and at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.

Now Bell is back with the Bulldogs in 2022-23 to finish what she started two years ago when her overtime game-winner in Erie, Pennsylvania, in the NCAA quarterfinals sent UMD to its first Frozen Four in over a decade. Bell is back to help the Bulldogs climb that final rung on the NCAA ladder after UMD fell to Ohio State in the national championship game last season at Penn State.

Bell joins the Season 5 premiere of the Bulldog Insider Podcast this week for an in-depth conversation about her worldwide travels with Team Canada, her new life as an Olympic gold medalist and to preview the upcoming UMD women’s hockey season.
