A few years ago, the throwback weekend at the famous Darlington Raceway was a huge success as motorsports fans were not only treated to some amazing NASCAR races but also to some amazing schemes. of paint.
One of the cool things about throwback week in Darlington is that NASCAR fans are given the chance to vote on their favorite painting jobs for each series. And since the Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and Cup Series were on “The Lady in Black” this past weekend, we got three winners.
And while we’re on the subject of a fan vote, we can also check out the updated voting results for the NASCAR All-Star Race, which has less than two weeks left.
NASCAR fans voted the best throwback paint scheme in Darlington
For the Camping World Truck Series, the winner for best throwback paint scheme in Darlington was No. 25 Chevrolet driven by Matt DiBenedetto, which is a tribute to two -time Daytona 500 winner Sterling Marlin. DiBenedetto finished 11th in the Truck Series race on Friday night.
The winner of the Xfinity Series is No. 51 Chevrolet driven by Jeremy Clements, who honored Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Bud Moore. Clements finished 29th at the Mahindra ROXOR 200 in Darlington on Saturday afternoon. Surely you can guess why from the picture above.
And the last but certainly not least, the No. Chase Elliott’s 9 Chevy, a tribute to Jimmy Means, garnered a fan vote for Cup Series racing. Elliott finished fifth at Darlington on Sunday and currently holds the No. 1 spot. 1 spot in the score standings.

Set for May 22 at Texas Motor Speedway, the 2022 NASCAR All-Star Race already has 20 drivers locked into the field. And here they are in alphabetical order:

For those not yet on the field, a win at this week’s AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway, the last race before the All-Star Race, will automatically end that. Winning a stage in the 50-lap NASCAR All-Star Open qualifying race before the All-Star Race also gets the driver on the field.
But if none of those things happen, a driver can still enter the field via the All-Star Race Fan Vote, as long as their vehicle is in raceable condition at the end of the qualifying race. Voting still continues on NASCAR.com, and here are the top 10 vote-getters currently ineligible, again in alphabetical order:
