A high-profile signing could soon see his contract torn up, freeing up a LaLiga side to do two deals with Tottenham, according to reports.

After nine years at Real Madrid, Isco finally left for pastures new last summer. The 30-year-old was a headline-grabbing addition for Sevilla when he signed a two-year deal, although it sounds like his stay is already coming to an end.

Various outlets have all reported that Isco is ready to see his contract terminated by Sevilla. The information originally came from a report by Spanish outlet Marcaand Sevilla reportedly want to end that ill-fated spell at the four-month mark.

Isco is also reportedly on board with severing ties. Sevilla were currently in LaLiga’s relegation zone and the manager who brought him to the club – Julen Lopetegui – was sacked in October.

Lopetegui is now at Wolves and the sun is not alone by suggesting that Molineux might be Isco’s next stop.

Either way, Isco’s potential Sevilla exit could affect another English club – Tottenham.

Spurs have two players that Sevilla want, although money is tight right now at the club.

But terminating Isco’s deal will free up much-needed funds and the threat of relegation could encourage their desire to spend in January.

Very Sport report Sevilla are interested in signing both Pape Matar Sarr and Bryan Gil. A deal for the latter could depend on the results of a scan that will reveal the extent of Richarlison’s hamstring injury on Wednesday.

The Brazilian raised the issue during his country’s quarter-final defeat to Croatia at the World Cup. Antonio Conte recently confirmed that Richarlison will undergo an MRI on Wednesday.

“For Richy, tomorrow he will have an MRI (scan) to know very well the importance of the injury,” Conte said on Tuesday.

“After tomorrow we will very well see the time he needs to recover.”

If Richarlison is ruled out for an extended period, Spurs may be reluctant to sanction Gil’s departure.

He is no higher than fifth in the forward ranking at the moment. But if Richarlison goes down, Gil will be required on the bench.

In addition, the World Cup in mid-season has ensured that the fixture list after Christmas is more congested than ever.

A lot of sports did not specify whether Sevilla would pursue loans or permanent deals for Sarr and Gil. Sarr is still yet to make his senior Spurs debut after signing from Metz in August 2021.

The Senegalese midfielder was loaned back to the Ligue 1 side for the previous campaign. He has stayed in north London this time, although he has not impressed enough to force his way into Conte’s plans.

If Tottenham are open to a permanent sale of Sarr, the report adds that he is valued by Spurs at around €15m (around £13m).

Gil, meanwhile, is believed to have more than one suitor in Spain. He showed glimpses of what he is capable of while on loan at Valencia last season and they are in the frame again.

Mallorca is another in the mix, with a recent Spanish report going so far as to claim negotiations were “advanced”.

Again, the report did not indicate whether it involved a loan or permanent move.
