Chicago-based Puttshack has leased space in Addison’s Village on the Parkway and plans to open a new golf “eatertainment” venue in the summer of 2023.
Puttshack’s venue will be a two-story, 28,000-square-foot space with tech-enabled mini golf courses throughout. The company advertises its venues as having an “upscale nightclub vibe.” Visitors can purchase food and cocktails, and the company said the venue’s main bar area will extend across both floors.
The Addison location will be the company’s second in Texas. It plans to open a venue in the Houston area this summer and has existing locations in Chicago, Atlanta and the UK
“Dallas is a key market for Puttshack due to its young, dynamic and expansive communities, and we’re thrilled to become a key attraction at Village on the Parkway and the greater Dallas community,” Puttshack’s chief marketing officer Susan Walmesley said in a statement . Walmesley formerly worked with Dallas-based TopGolf as its vice president of sales and marketing.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area has become somewhat of a magnet for sports-based eatertainment concepts like Puttshack, especially those of the golf variety.
Topgolf, acquired by Callaway Golf Co. in 2021, and BigShots Golf, owned by ClubCorp, are also based in the Dallas area.
Drive Shack Inc., a Topgolf competitor led by a former director of operations, is based in Dallas and has opened a mini golf concept called The Puttery in The Colony. The Puttery has backing from golf pro Rory McIlroy.
And in 2023, Dallas’ Design District will get a new three-story food, drink and entertainment venue called TOCA Social that centers around a proprietary soccer game but also offers pickleball and bowling. It, too, has ties to TopGolf.
