Comparisons have been drawn between Crystal Palace man Wilfried Zaha and rumored Liverpool target Mohammed Kudus, with an expert explaining why Jurgen Klopp wants Kudus in his squad.

Kudus has been in good form this season for Ajax. He has scored 10 goals and two assists in 21 games for the Dutch club, helping them reach 30 points in the Eredivisie. However, they must find a way to catch up with leaders Feyenoord, who have a three-point lead.

Kudus also made six appearances during Ajax’s Champions League group stage campaign. He scored against Liverpool, Napoli and Rangers, but Ajax could only manage third place and has thus fallen to the Europa League.

The center forward made headlines before the start of the World Cup by saying the following about Neymar: “He is not better than me. He’s just a higher profile player, that’s all.”

Kudus continued to slam The Guardian to take his comments out of context and call their story ‘fake news’. But he lived up to the hype at the World Cup, scoring two goals in three games for Ghana.

Unfortunately for the Black Stars, they exited the tournament in fourth place in Group H. Portugal went through at the top, while South Korea followed them in second place.

Kudus’ impressive displays, both for Ajax and Ghana, have led to rumors that he could secure a big transfer in 2023. Everton are apparently one of the ‘strongest candidates’ to capture himbut interest also comes from their local rivals Liverpool.

During an interview with Football Insiderformer Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has analyzed the Kudus to Liverpool rumours.

Liverpool target could be the next Wilfried Zaha – expert

He has made a big admission that Kudus is the next Zaha, while explaining how Klopp would benefit from the 22-year-old’s versatility.

“Kudus is a top class player. He’s raw and he’s got a lot of talent,” Robinson said. “If you listen to him and read some of his quotes, he thinks he’s better than Neymar. To be fair to him, he went some way to backing up those quotes with the way he played.

“I impressed with him at Ajax. He is direct, can score and is versatile. He can play anywhere across the front line. Jurgen Klopp likes players like that.

“He also has experience in the Champions League. I think he would be an excellent addition to any side.

“Liverpool have a lot of quality in that area but Kudus would give them something different. You know who I would compare him (to), Zaha at Palace, he’s not that dissimilar.”

Kudus would be a good signing for Liverpool. As Robinson says, he can play in all three forward positions, so he would provide backup to Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah.

Kudus has also served as a central midfielder in recent seasons. So he could help if Klopp’s midfield injury problems continue.

Another reason why the World Cup player would be a smart addition for Liverpool is his transfer value. transfer market value him at €15m (currently £13m) so he shouldn’t cost as much as some of their other attacking targets.

The only problem for the Reds is that Everton also want Kudus. This can force the attacker to make a big decision about where to go.

Obviously, Liverpool are the more attractive option given their illustrious recent history. But if Kudus prioritizes becoming a permanent starter, he may end up choosing Everton.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are reportedly the team showing ‘greatest interest’ in a top-class defender, with Man Utd and Chelsea also on his trail.
