The novelty of Disney’s Marvel Studios series seems to be fading.
A new report from analytics firm Samba TV indicates that the recently launched “Ms. Marvel ”series, which did well with critics, saw 775,000 US households tuning in to watch the series in its first five days.
That’s easily the lowest of any MCU Disney + series to date, and considerably down on the previous lowest series debut “Hawkeye” which still managed to pull in nearly double that with 1.5 million viewers in its first five days of release according to Samba’s numbers.
On the upside, “Ms. Marvel ”has been a smash with its Gen Z target audience as viewers aged 20-24 have reportedly watched the series at the highest rate of any MCU show on Disney + to date.
“Ms. Marvel ”has also drew in a more diverse audience, with Black, Hispanic, and Asian households tuning into the series at a higher rate than previous MCU series.
Newcomer Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City and a huge fan of the Avengers who one day gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.
“Ms. Marvel ”launched on June 8th and will complete its six-episode run on July 13th.
