ONEaccording to royal expert Nile Gardiner, Meghan Markleis quiet after the publication of Prince Harrys memories, Spare partssmells like damage control.
The previous Margaret Thatcher adviser claimed the book is “the reason Meghan has been so quiet” in an interview with GB Newsadding that Harry and Meghan “underestimated” the level of criticism.
“After all, she’s treated Harry like a useful idiot for many years and now Harry is undermining the Meghan brand and she’s obviously not happy about that,” she continued.
A spectacular PR ‘disaster’ for the Sussexes
The book, which contains some shocking revelations about the royal family, has reportedly been a “spectacular disaster” for Harry and Meghan’s reputation and position, according to Gardiner.
“There is no doubt that Harry has commoditized every aspect of his life and he deserves all the criticism he has received for firing the first volley,” the royal commentator added Angela Epstein. She also stated that when it came to Harry, “nothing is sacred.”
However, the controversy doesn’t seem to have hurt Harry’s book sales, which Spare parts has become fastest selling non-fiction book in UK history.
After just one week of publication, the over-the-top memoir has already sold more than 3.2 million copies globally and is expected to become one of the best-selling memoirs of all time.
