Here’s How To Book An Exclusive Tuscan Dinner Party With Massimo Bottura

Two veritable giants of Italian hospitality will soon join forces to create an unparalleled culinary journey that elevates la dolce vita to new heights.

On July 6, 2022, Massimo Bottura — the world-renowned chef behind Osteria Francescana, the three-Michelin-star restaurant in Modena that’s one of the planet’s most coveted reservations — will bring his singular vision to the kitchen of Saporium, the rarefied fine -dining destination at the storied Borgo Santo Pietro resort in the Tuscan hamlet of Palazzetto, some 60 miles south of Florence.

Bottura will conceive a seven-course tasting menu exclusively for the occasion — incorporating some of Osteria Francescana’s signature dishes — for a maximum of 20 guests. The € 1,250 (approximately $ 1,315) cost per person includes wines from Borgo’s 1,200-bottle cellar, a carefully curated collection of prestigious vintages from Italy and beyond.

The unprecedented, uber-exclusive event will marry Borgo’s soil-to-plate, “beyond organic” philosophy with Bottura’s wildly creative reimagining of Italian cuisine. He’ll draw upon a dazzling bounty of peerless provisions to cast his epicurean spell: the artful, 300-acre grounds encompass an orto (culinary garden) laden with fruits, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers, along with an artisan cheesemaking dairy and a top-notch team that includes foragers, bakers, and even a fermentation specialist.

While you do not have to be a Borgo Santo Pietro guest to book a seat at Bottura’s table, you’ll want to be — and luckily, a few of its 20 exquisite rooms remain available for the evening. Melding nature and luxury arguably better than any other hotel in Europe — if not the world — and impeccably designed around a 13th-century villa, the achingly enchanting estate is home to rolling vineyards, riverside pastures, and 13 acres of magnificent manicured gardens, among other myriad charms.

Guests can whip up homemade pasta at the state-of-the-art cooking school, visit the lab where Borgo cofounder Jeanette Thottrup developed Seed to Skin — the resort’s entirely natural luxury skincare line — or take to Tuscany’s winding roads for an exhilarating Vespa tour , to name just a few of the activities on offer.
