Bryan County mom and teacher write book about pandemic for kids

The events following the outbreak of COVID-19 affected everyone, and children in particular had their world turned upside down. The Pandemic and Me : A Child’s Perspective is a new book written by a first time local author. Haley Cranman is a mother and teacher at Life Spring Christian Academy in Bloomingdale. “It’s a story people should hear because a lot of kids have to deal with these issues and some thought they were the only one, but they weren’t alone,” says Cranman. The story follows Haely’s eldest son Collins as he navigates the pandemic. “I don’t think he fully understood until the book came out,” laughs Cranman. “The first thing he told me was that he wanted to be famous.” The Pandemic and Me: A Child’s Perspective shares how Collins learned about the pandemic, dealing with being abruptly pulled away from friends and adapting to online learning.” I have 9-11 that I have lived through and my children now have a pandemic,” adds Cranman. “We all have something we’ve been through that changed the world. It’s nice to create something that they can share with their kids down the road.” Cranman has already had several book signings and more are on the way. She says she also plans to write more books in the coming years. The Pandemic and Me: A Child’s Perspective is available for purchase online at Amazon, Target, Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million.
